Zebra Princess

While we were shopping last weekend, Dean took the older kids to Barnes and Nobles while Brooklyn and I went to hit all the clearance racks at all the kid stores. I have never just taken Brook by herself to shop. It was really fun. We were at Gymboree and I hear this little voice "Mom, Look it's a Zebra Princess. I want to be a Zebra Princess. Please, Can I be a Zebra Princess?" She is standing next to me holding the corner of this Zebra Jumper.(For anyone that does not know, she loves animals, any animal~she did not get that from me!) So I dug through the rack to find a top to go with it and we were lucky enough to find hair clips. She has worn a combination of that outfit three times this week. Every time she sees it coming out the laundry she says "Yah, My Zebra Princess, Can I wear it?" I think one of my favorite things about this age is that she knows she is a princess, not that just mom and dad think she is one. In her eyes she is truly a princess.
Kylie was two months older than Brook when she was shopping at Old Navy with me and saw this skirt and said "Mom, I really like that, can we buy it? I thought it was cute that they were close to the same age when they found their first outfit they really liked with out my help. It is so fun to watch them grow and see them develope their own sense of style and their own personality. (it's fun most of the time, I do have those times I would rather no one had an opinion!)

My Crafty Side

I saw this darling giraffe throw pillow the other day so I thought I would try it on a top for Brooklyn. I had a scrap of the polkadot fabric, so I traced a giraffe, Ironed it on the top and then handstitched pink around the edges. It was so simple but I really liked how it turned out! Then I decided to make some cute little piggytail hairclips. Brooklyn loves it! It makes me want to do another project.

Our Sweet Valentines!

I love Valentines Day! It is so fun to have a holiday to celebrate the people you love! We always give the kids a little heart treat of some kind and then we spend the day together. This year we took a day trip and went shopping for the day and went to Red Robbins to eat. We had alot of fun just hanging out together. ~James was so cute this year. He really got the meaning of Valentines Day, so when we gave him his chocolate heart he just beamed! He said" wow this is a big heart I think you love me alot!" Dean and I always go out later in the week to celebrate, when it is not quite so crazy. Happy Valentines Day!

Kylies Dress

Kylie needed a white dress for YW and we couldn't
find a modest one, so we decided to make one. It was
really fun. The top is really fitted and then it goes out,
I think it is much cuter in person! But, she loves it.
She even has her pattern picked out for the next dress.
It is really nice to spend that one on one time with her!

Things that bug me

I was tagged so here are ten things that bug me;

1. Having to repeat myself. ~I think my kids think I will eventually forget if I say it enough times.

2. Unpacking after movers pack you. ~Do they really need to individually wrap and tape every childs toy?

3. Never Ending Laundry!

4.Being interupted during a good book.~Yes that means eating take out for the entire Twilight series.

5.Having money to shop and coming home empty handed.

6. An empty treat box in the pantry. ~Come on, Are you kidding me?

7. Clean Clothes in the dirty laundry~And I wonder why laundry is never ending!

8. Dirty Bathrooms~Need I say more?

9. Snow, I love it the first postcard looking day but thats it! I am a Texan at heart!

10. Our slow computer, I keep telling Dean one day I am going to throw it out the window and then we will have to buy a computer and a window! You would think that would work but, I am still waiting....

So now I tag Luana, Charlotte, Bethany, Paige and Di. Come on girls I know you can do it, if you have done it recently ignore me!

Silly Little Pumpkin Rainboot Kids

James and Brooklyn love to get Nolan from the bus stop. It is the highlight of their day! It is so funny how they get so excited over something so simple. But, they start jumping and running through the house to get ready, James has to grab his rainboots-doesn't matter what the weather is doing, rain, snow or 85 degrees outside, that is his going to the bus attire. Brooklyn on the other hand has to have her pumpkin hat. Heaven Forbid is you can't find the pumpkin hat! I am glad they are so happy to see Nolan. He always runs off the bus and hugs them, I guess that makes it worth the stress of always trying to find the rainboots and the pumpkin hat!

Giggly Blue

Brooklyn was playing cars with James on Fri
when she noticed her nail polish was almost gone.
She came and asked me to paint her nails, I couldn't
find her usual pink so I got Kylies blue and as I
started to paint her nails she started giggling
hysterically! Mom-look my nails are blue that is
so funny, I like it, they are blue. she giggled the
entire time I painted her nails. It was so fun! I love
that she loves to play James cars and trains and
anything boy but she is just as happy doing her
girly princess things. (As long as it does not involve
a tutu!)
