Reading, Writing and Little Red Riding Hood

Nolan aka Inspector Frank

Nolan's class did a really fun play called Reading, Writing and Little Red Riding Hood. He was Inspector Frank, he had to try to get into Little Red Riding Hoods house to look for the wolf. But, she would not let him in to look because she realized the wolfs true potential was to be a kindergarten teacher. It was hilarious and Nolan was so excited to get the part he got.

Mmmm.....Don't our school lunches look yummy!!! Nolan's school had an end of the year BBQ. I have never understood why they think the parents want to come and eat a school lunch. The only redeeming quality was the chocolate milk to wash it down with. But, it is worth it to see Nolan's grin and wave when we get there.

Yeah! I get some Me time!

Dean took the kids on a bike/scooter ride, normally I would go with them but Deans tire was flat so he took mine. As I watched them bike away I was ready to do a party dance. Thirty minutes to myself after a particularly whiney moody day. Oh, how I love that man!!!

The World Through James & Brooks Eyes

Brooklyn~

I was taking a bath last week and Brook decided she wanted to get in with me. I was really not wanting to share but I let her get in (our bathroom door does not have a lock-who does that? I really should have fixed that when we moved in). She was swimming around when she looked at me and then looked at herself. "Mommy, I am missing some body parts. Can we go the the store to get some? I want my body to look just like you." It was so funny but I think this little girl is banned from my tub. Heaven Forbid, Dream a little bigger girl!

Afew weeks ago at church Brook was sitting next to Kylie when she saw some tulle sticking out from under Kylies new dress. "Oh, Kylie ~Look you are a princess just like me." And she gave her a kiss.

James~

James~"Mom, I love to play baseball.
Me~I am so glad, what other sports do you want to play?
James~soccer, basketball...But, not football.
Me~Why don't you want to play football?
James~Have you ever watched football Mom? They just run around and knock each other down, they don't play nice, they don't let each other catch the ball. He thinks for a minute... I know I willl play football with my friends, they will let me catch the ball and not push me down. He's such a funny little guy!

Busy, Busy Nolan

It has been a busy end of the school year for Nolan. All third graders at his school have to take dance. Nolan HATES dance class, he has dreaded Fridays all year. Normally he loves them because they are a half day. His class did the Macarena at the end of the year performance. It was fun to watch but for his sake, I am glad dance class is over and he can enjoy the rest of the year. He also told me his partner was bossy.....Has anyone ever heard of a bossy girl??? He might want to get used to that.

Nolan at his school play about the Civil War. He was so funny, he was right up front in the middle and he was so serious, I thought the teacher had asked them to be serious like soldiers and Nolan is my little rule follower. But when I asked him he said "No mom, we didn't have to be serious, I had a very bad cast of stage fright". He did a great job, he even volunteered for a speaking part.

Nolans class trip to Red Rock in Sedona. I love going on field trips, it is so fun to see Nolan with his little pals. He is always so funny around his friends, he has a great sense of humor.

Nolan running at his school fundraiser. His class was Mrs. Perkins Pony Express. He even had a little mail carry bag that you can't see in the pic. He ran about 2 miles. I was so proud of him. I loved how all his classmates recognized me and they would all slow down and wait for me to say their name and cheer them on.

House For Sale

I meant to blog this a week ago, but I can't seem to catch up with myself. Since one of my brothers and a sister called after reading my blog wondering where we were going next, I thought I should put an update on here. We are selling our house but we are staying in Flagstaff, I am sure not forever but for the time being. We downsized when we moved here so we bought this house with the thought that we would sell in two years, we realized in Dec that it will be three years in June (Yes, for those of you wondering~we will be breaking our record!) Since house prices are coming down we thought it might be a good time to list our house and then we will rent while we watch for a little bigger house. We are listing By Owner, so if anyone has any advice we will gladly take it!

There are afew of you that I have not talked to (other than Christmas cards in forever) If you are now a blogger, I would love the address. Thanks to all who have kept up with us and our crazy gypsy life style! We are selling our house again, but that will have to be tomorrows blog....
