San Fransisco Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon Oct 2009

So excited to be here again. I never really found the time to train this year but anyone can do 13.1 miles right? I laugh that I am truly not a marathoner but I enjoy the actual run so much that I know I will do it again!

This year we invited our daughters that were old enough to run~Kylie, 14 yrs

My neice Tori, 15 yrs~They were so much fun! We are so happy we brought them!

Kylie's and my names on the Nike Town wall

Pointing to our names

We were way to short this year!

My neice Tori, Sister Sally and their friends Debrah and Pam at their hotel. They were feeling like big spenders, they got a hotel much closer to all the events than we did.

All of us at the Warf

Three generations of the Langston Family AKA Hot Running Chicks

So Funny~but we had to see these toilets, they are Green toilets, you can push a button and they give you instructions, everything is fully automated and when you are done it seals itself and it fully washes and sanitizes before the next person. Great concept but even better if we could have figured out how to get the toilet paper to come out. Thank You Luana for carrying tissue in your purse!
Tori and Kylie

My sister Luana with her black eye, you can't see it very well here but she fell on ice a week before the trip and got a concussion and a big black eye. They told her not to do the marathon so she walked it.

With all these women we could not miss the Ghirardeli Chocolate Shop, everyone needs a little chocolate before they run a marathon!

Kara's Cupcakes~This was the cutest cupcake store and they were awesome!

Kylie's Cholcolate Vanilla

The Comfort of a Belly Button

Brooklyn is so funny, she loves her belly button. It doesn't matter what mood she's in she always has her finger in her belly button. If she's on my lap she will stick my finger in her belly button. Nolan used to have a blanky but he eventually stopped carrying it around. We really can't leave her belly button behind! It's cute that she has something that is comforting to her, but I am not thinking it will be so cute in a couple of years! I am wondering how long this phase will last......

How to walk/run a 40 min mile......

1. Book your mom a really early flight, the earlier the flight the better. My mom had to be up at 3 a.m. to make it on time.

2. Make sure you live at a much higher altitude and throw in a couple of good hills.....

3. Make sure there is a huge temperature difference. San Antonio is still in the 90's, here in the 60's at the time we walked. My poor mom was freezing!

4. Have her give you tips from her running class to go faster while you walk, then tease her because they are not working for her (I know I get the daughter of the year award!).

5. Last but not least, keep each other laughing so hard that it is impossible to even walk!

It was so much fun to have my mom here, our 40 min mile (I really am not exagerating, I am pretty sure that was the slowest 3 mile walk EVER!) was so much fun, it was one of those memories we will talk about for years!

We are all so excited for our 1/2 marathon in a couple of weeks. Actually we all more excited to see each other than for the actual marathon this year.......But, for a Tiffany Necklace at the finish line....I know we can do it! Did I mention the foot and back massages and the manicures and pedicures the day before....Yes, it is a race worth running or walking!

We have matching shirts made, I am wearing mine from last year in the pictures. My sister Luana came up with both last years and this years. I never put last years on here so here it is..

Crazy Preschool boys

All the boys in James Preschool and his Best Friend Dan~Having all little boys adds a craziness that makes it fun!

James is 5!!!

James at our family party

At his friend Star Wars party with their light sabers

Learning to FEEL the power with Master Kylie
~They had to keep a balloon in the air with their light saber, then they went on their first mission to save Queen Padme and Princess Leah, there pictures were in balloons, they had to pop all the balloons to save them. Next mission......

Build a bridge to cross the hot lava (dirt) to get to the star ship, if you stepped off the bridge you had to start over

All the boys in the Starship

Oh No, Astroids (candy wrapped in foil) were going to destroy the starship, they had to find them all.

Yae! They got all the astroids as a reward it is Pod Racing time!

Oh no! Darth Vader's Ship (my boys would know the name!) has landed. FEEL the power to open the door, of course the door magically opened and Darth Vader AKA Nolan was on the other side to fight till he ran away. This was my favorite part the boys all gasped with wide eyes when the saw Darth Vader, then they laughed and attacked him.

Photo op with Darth Vader......Hopefully I will get them to the boys before his 6th Birthday!
~James is such a fun kid, he brings alot of laughter to our home. He obviously loves Star Wars, he loves anything lego and family game nights, he is all boy! He is our one kid that will run till he literally falls over. Happy Birthday James!

James First Day of Preschool

Our cute little guy is getting so big! He was so excited to start preschool with his friends and he absolutely loved it!

Brooklyn is 3!

Brooklyn wanted a pink Kitty cake for her birthday.

Presents are always a favorite!

She wanted the Lott family to come to her party. My friend Di watches her more than anyone else. This is Gavin happy after eating cake.

James with Alexis and Spencer

Nolan with Arden
Brooklyn also wanted party hats and noise makers....

Our sweet little birthday girl. She was so excited all day for her birthday party, she was just as happy to have the Lott's share it with us. Their kids are always so good to her. It is hard to imagine our baby is 3! We all still think of her as the baby, I am not sure we will ever let her grow up! She is so much fun and she is such a happy girl. She still loves animals, the color pink and her belly button (that will be another blog!).
